At the start of the academic year 2026/2027, after many years SKIP got the opportunity to welcome the first years to their studies again, and we’ve even expanded to masters students for the first time.

In our introduction sessions, we have presented our student association, explained what hackathons are and their importance as well as all the exciting possibilities that students can partake in and expect in the following months. We hope that we’ve helped the students adjust to their new environment.

In collaboration with OOPSex, we have also hosted a grilling session for the Software Engineering and Management as well as the Game Design & Technology masters students! OOPSex had a separate grilling session for our bachelor SEM students.

Afterwards, on Friday, the 4th of September, one week after the university has officially started, SKIP hosted another event for the first year SEM students, this time a Language café! Students had the chance to showcase their multilingual skills and enjoy a pleasant afternoon filled with coffee and snacks as well as socialize with their classmates and upperclassmen Fadders.

Both SKIP introduction sessions and the language café were hits with many people attending. We can’t wait to organise more exciting events, collab with other associations and programme students to foster the academic community and make university studies more enjoyable.
